Our Favorite Hardwood Flooring
When remodeling your home, it’s important to think of every aspect of the project: from roofing all the way down to foundation (from head to toe, if you will!). Today, we are focusing in at a relatively low-sitting, but high-importance object: flooring! More specifically, we are talking hardwood flooring. Wood floors are a timeless finish that can set the scene for an entire space. Here are a few of our favorites:
Provenza’s Heirloom Collection in Liverpool. This is a really popular choice among clients because it’s a lighter, more neutral finish. Liverpool is an oak wide plank, hand-crafted look that appeals to a wide variety of tastes and styles. If you’re going for a contemporary look, the faded color of the stain can be a perfect complement to the gray tones that are so popular in contemporary homes. It also fits in seamlessly with a more rustic or transitional setting, where the gray stain becomes an undertone for the wood’s natural color and texture to shine through. (link)
Kährs’ Artisan Collection in Oak Earth. Looking for something a little darker? This oak features a warm, dark brown stain and a high level of variety from its finishing process, so the grain and knots of the wood can stand out to create a truly natural space. This brand also offers a wide variety of exotic woods, for those of you who are looking for something beyond your standard range of oaks and maples. (link)
Provenza’s Pompeii Collection in Lipari. If you can’t tell, we’re big fans of Provenza! The brand provides a consistently high-quality product in a variety of finishes we love. The We love this maple wood flooring, which is part of their Pompeii collection in the color Lipari. Also, featuring a wider plank and is hand-scraped to perfection, this rich look is ideal for transitional or traditional spaces. We recently used this in a custom home and the richness and timeless look makes it a classic choice. (link)
Bolefloor’s Walnut Natural. Love to stand out? Bolefloor provides an exceptionally beautiful and unique product: curved wood floors! The natural-looking edges can be subtle or pronounced, but either way they’re sure to catch your guests’ attention! We like the Walnut Natural because it lets the curvature of the wood take center stage without overwhelming the space. (link)
Tesoro Woods’ Reclaimed Hardwoods. If sustainable living gets you going, Tesoro Woods (formerly EcoWoods) is the brand for you. They have a variety of species and stains, including a line comprised entirely of reclaimed woods. Talk about being eco-friendly!
We love the look of wood floors in just about any space, and the brands listed here are some of our favorites.
